ABOUT: A Communications & Event Planning Professional, Gloria Buckman Yankson is a former corporate executive with multi-industry experience in Africa and the UK which spans: Event Planning & Production, Marketing Strategy and Brand Communications.
In 2006, inspired by a lack of professionals catering to the event planning needs of individuals and SMEs in the Ghanaian community, Gloria and her husband founded PlanIt Ghana. In 2010, she quit a very successful career in Corporate Communications & Marketing to focus on building their event planning and brand communications start-up. She has, since then, led the team to produce hundreds of events for high spend public figures and global brands.
Gloria is also the Creator of Planners’ Hub – Ghana’s first creative hub – launched in 2015 to offer education and business support to event professionals. Leveraging on her marketing communications and brand development expertise, she has [with the help of other creative professionals] coached close to 600 entrepreneurs to launch successful creative businesses in Africa and beyond. She hosts event planning courses and workshops across West Africa and often speaks at events to both the event services industry and wider business community.
A recipient of multiple international awards, Gloria is often quoted in industry publications and frequently appears on television and radio in her capacity as a communications and event planning expert. She is a passionate advocate for women empowerment and has a track record of giving back to the less privileged in society throughout her career and now through PlanIt Ghana’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
